The Book of Eli Reviews Not Completely Converted

The Book of Eli reviews are split, much like other recent apocalypse tales. Many a Book of Eli review is worn out by the end of the world, after the likes of 2012 and The Road. In this case, the first big action film of 2010 is more of a shoot-em-up tale, mixed with the Christian

Left Behind series.

But The Book of Eli reviews aren't all won over by the redemptive power of Denzel Washington, his guns, or his special book.

This time around, the action takes place 30 years after the apocalypse, as one lone survivor wanders the remains of America with a special book. Whatever it is - and almost every review either gives it away or says it's easy to figure out - it may bring about the rebirth of humanity. Washington's Eli is out to protect the book and kill all those who would take it for their own means.
