Check out Interview Below:
Omar: What’s Good Miss Sincere? How are you?
Sincere: I`m doing great! I`m so happy 2010 is finally here and I`m ready to work harder than ever before!
Omar: I really appreciate you taking the time out to answer these questions
Sincere: No problem. I love expressing my thoughts and opinions. So where do we begin?
Omar: Quoting one of your lyrics from your new single “Baddest” “Baddest of them all” why is that Sincere?
Sincere: Well my producer Freebass Face sampled a snippet from Diamond of Crime Mob and officially made that the sample of the song. My producer and a lot of my fans believe I`m the baddest because I`m very versatile and have so much to offer. It's really rare you find a woman who has her own graphic designing company, raps and can do choreography. My producer, friends and fans view me as triple threat crowning me the title the "Baddest"
Omar: When did you realize that music was want you wanted to pursue?
Sincere: Music has always been a part of my life in every form possible. I started dancing at the age of six. I started singing at the age of 9. I started playing instruments at age 11. Then I started rhyming and writing at the age 14. I couldn't imagine me doing something without music being involved because its honestly the only thing that I know.
Omar: Now I consider you and one other female MC “Jai Blazin” one of the most unique rappers. Why is your sound so different from other female MC’s?
Sincere: My sound is different because when I write I use my tom boy mentality so I can relate to both parties. For example, second track recorded was the "Same Girl Remix" and I got a lot of love from both parties because when I write I allow both men and women to relate. Everyone in music knows by default you mimic your favorite rapper in the beginning. I listen to so much music that its hard for me to sound like anyone else in particular. I just try to write and express myself the best way I know how and most importantly using my own voice and sound that I was given. I dont want to sound like anyone else, I only know how to be myself so thats what I`m bringing to every track that I record.
Omar: Do you have any butterflies when working in the studio?
Sincere: Honestly, its rare that I get butterflies. I`m a very laid back character and I adjust and make myself comfortable no matter the location. I thought butterflies would come the first time I broadcasted my whole studio session for my new single "Baddest" but it was actually once of the best experiences that I had in the studio. It was wonderful knowing people had so much faith in me to cheer me on as I worked on the track and gave me praise on how well the song was coming along.
Omar: The Sinter of Attention is the title of your new album right? What made you choose that name?
Sincere: The original title was "Hate the Sin, Love the Sinner" but one of my closest friends and mentors Kae-9, who is also a fellow rapper wanted the title. I always help him pick titles for everything so I feel its his turn to give his opinion on the title of my first mix-tape. Syn of Tru Shootaz requested we make it "Sinter" instead of "Center". Now we have the title "The Sinter of Attention." I do not like to brag but when I enter a room I become the center of attention in some cases because of my friendly personality and the fact that I`m outgoing.
Omar: Could you explain what inspired the concept of the title Baddest? What can listeners expect from the single “Baddest” (i.e. sound, producers, writers, collabo’s etc)?
Sincere: The beat pretty much stamped the concept of the song in placed. I have always been known to be a bad girl so it was really easy writing and the lyrics of how bad I can really be. The beat was produced by Freebass Face, engineered by Chainsaw ( Intrigue Productions ) and each lyric was written by yours truly. The intro was done by Nu The Mayor, he helped a lot during this project also.
Omar: How did it feel working in the studio for your own project, as opposed to working with Tru Shootaz?
Sincere: Wow, I had a feeling a question like this would come. It was a different feel not having any of my former group members being there to support me on this project. I imagined it to be awkward for me not having my brothers there but I made it through. There was a certain determination and a drive inside telling me that I could do this and I could show the world that I can be an independent female artist and hold my own. I believe the results of my new single proved that I did it right and I`m going to keep pushing and progressing.
Omar: When listening to your single “Baddest” I notice Nu the Mayor was featured on the track, how was it working with him and will you be doing other songs with him in the near future?
Sincere: Nu The Mayor is not just another artist that I work with. The same bond that Lil Wayne and Birdman have goes the same for me and Nu The Mayor. Nu The Mayor has been rapping for years and guiding me in the right direction. I love working with him. I`m the Mayor Jr. We have several projects in store so please be on the look out.
Omar: How long have you been writing, and rapping Sincere?
Sincere: I started writing at the age of fourteen. I had a journal that I wrote all my rhymes into. I use to write some hardcore lyrics because of the rough childhood that I had. I never held back in every bar. My mother found my journal and accused me of being in a gang. I never openly discussed this with anyone. I wish I still had that journal till this day. As I got older my other brothers wanted me to ghostwrite but I felt that these were my stories and these were my thoughts and no one needed to express them more than me so that's when I decided that I`m going to rap and I`m going to master the art of delivery. I started rapping and recording in 2006 and I don't plan on stopping.
Omar: Do you write for others? And if you do has their been songs that you wanted to keep for yourself has this ever been the case for you? (if so, which song(s))?
Sincere: I haven't gotten the chance to write for anyone but myself but I will be willing to write for artist in the future.
Omar: You take great pictures, do you consider yourself a model Sincere?
Sincere: Thanks! I do not consider myself a model but this topic comes up very often. My shape and build screams the occupation "Model" but I`m just a woman who enjoys dancing and rhyming. Modeling is not a career I plan on pursuing. The music industry calls for a lot of photo shoots so that will be the only modeling I will take part in.
Omar: You have everything and you do everything, which is where I see the versatility in things you do (dancer, graphic designer, writer, and rapper) Would you say you are a triple threat?
Sincere: Of course! I do not shy away from the term at all. I put a lot of time and energy to work at all of my crafts and talents. I love the fact that I can place positive energy into everything that I do. I am a triple threat and the world should know it!
Omar: Are you on independent label?
Sincere: I`m not officially on a label yet.
Omar: What advice do you have for those wishing to break into the music industry, to be songwriters or artists?
Sincere: My advice is to stay focused and not to let anyone tell you that you are not good enough. Time and practice only can make you better and choosing to feed into negativity will only limit your career. I believe your imagine and how your present yourself plays a major role in your success. You have to make wise decisions because the fan base you choose will also decide on how far you go.
Omar: Album release date?
Sincere: The album release date has been pushed back until the spring time.
Omar: Thank you sincere for taking time out to answer our questions; it’s very much appreciated. Best of luck with the project, we’re eagerly waiting on it.
Sincere: You're welcome! Until next time, take care! smooches!
